Gayatri Chakravarti Spivak [Routledge]

2. A short biography on Nirad C. Chowdhury, the self-proclaimed 'Last British', who was born into an ancient Bengal Hindu family [in Kishorgonj, Bangladesh] during the twilight hours of the British Raj. The essay positions him as a product of Bengal Renaissance and Enlightenment. Writings on NCC is abundant on the web; therefore, any interested reader will easily find something to feed on. I just want to mention that Nirad's Bengali writings sometimes seems to be overshadowed by his fame as an English essayist of a unique quality. The following paper contains a good many references that the reader shall find quite interesting.
